GAY HELP LINE (800.713.713) – contact center gratuito contro l’omotransfobia

Gay Help Line è un numero verde nazionale e gratuito: attivo dal 2006 accoglie le richieste di ascolto e supporto di tutte le persone LGBTIQ+ o dei loro alleati, come famiglie o amici, e offre loro servizi e consulenze gratuite. 

ORARI: dal lunedì al sabato dalle 16 alle 20

Da qualche anno è attiva anche la versione via chat su ‘‘Speakly.org’’ o via App ‘’Speakly’’ scaricabile su sistemi Android o IOS.

I nostri servizi

Ogni anno vengono accolte più di 20.000 richieste di ascolto e gestite centinaia di prese in carico con una modalità di supporto diretto alla persona.

Più nel dettaglio, grazie al lavoro degli operatori e operatrici di I livello e delle squadre di professionisti/e su vari livelli, Gay Help Line offre:

  • Ascolto e servizio di “telefono amico” e “chat” anonimi e gratuiti
  • Informazioni legate a vita sociale, socializzazione, associazionismo, servizi alla comunità
  • Cicli di consulenze gratuite di tipo Psicologico / Medico / Legale / Educativo / Orientamento al Lavoro
  • Consulenze di mediazione familiare e con i contesti sociali in cui può esercitarsi la discriminazione
  • Checkpoint per test HIV e IST rapidi e gratuiti, con servizio di counseling per persone sierocoinvolte
  • Sportello interculturale per persone straniere o migranti lgbt+
  • Accoglienza presso le nostre strutture per chi non ha casa.

 

Rispondiamo ai bisogni di ascolto e supporto delle persone che sperimentano lo stigma omolesbobitransfobico o minori opportunità sociali in ragione del proprio orientamento sessuale o identità di genere attraverso: 

  • La rete con istituzioni territoriali, regionali o nazionali: in particolare il progetto è sostenuto e finanziato dal Comune di Roma, la Regione Lazio e l’Ufficio Nazionale Antidiscriminazioni Razziali
  • La rete con il sistema delle tutele dalla violenza, grazie alla collaborazione attiva con OSCAD, Osservatorio Contro gli Atti Discriminatori delle Forze dell’Ordine, Ministero dell’Interno
  • L’interlocuzione con rappresentanze istituzionali estere al fine di favorire il dialogo interculturale e lo scambio di buone prassi, a tutela delle persone che provengono anche da altri paesi.
  • Grazie al supporto dell’Istituto Buddista Soka Gakkai e alla Chiesa Valdese diamo struttura e continuità ai nostri servizi

 

L’ACCOGLIENZA LGBTIQ+

Dal 2016 Gay Center establishes and manages the reception of LGBT+ Refuge, la prima casa famiglia in Italia per giovani lgbtiq+ cacciati di casa o vittime di violenza familiare, di età compresa tra i 18 e i 26 anni.

La struttura prevede la presenza di un’equipe educativa di supporto e offre rifugio alle vittime in tutte le necessità, attraverso l’accoglienza e l’identificazione di percorsi personalizzati finalizzati all’autonomia, piena indipendenza ed emancipazione dalle condizioni di discriminazione o violenza. 

Dal 2021 Gay Center gestisce insieme a Programma Integra il progetto di accoglienza “A Casa di Ornella”, struttura di semiautonomia per persone transgender, intersex e non binarie in condizione di marginalità, di età compresa tra i 18 e i 40 anni. 

La struttura dà alle persone trans* e non binarie la possibilità di affrontare pregiudizi e minori possibilità incntrate nei percorsi di studio, formazione professionale e lavoro, in assenza di un supporto dalle famiglie. 

In 2024 Gay Center ha aperto un nuovo progetto di accoglienza, “Refuge home”, un co-housing per persone lgbtiq+, per contrastare il fenomeno dell’homelessness che ha percentuali elevate nella comunità a causa dei pregiudizi omolesbobitransfobici.

Attraverso questi progetti Gay Center intende dare una risposta concreta al rischio di avere minori opportunità sociali a causa delle discriminazioni multiple e dei fattori intersezionali di esclusione. L’accoglienza è orientata ad un approccio interculturale e promuove l’accesso ai diritti sociali e civili di tutte le persone lgbtiq+ presenti in Italia, perché possa essere contrastata ogni stigmatizzazione e marginalizzazione.
