PAOLO SEGANTI: MUNICIPIO III AND GAY CENTER WILL ORGANIZE A FESTIVAL IN HIS MEMORY IN THE PARK HE LOVED

A moment of commemoration was held on Saturday in memory of Paolo Seganti, a young gay man brutally murdered in 2005, in the park to which he was deeply attached and to which Largo Paolo Seganti is dedicated, which represented one of the places of his daily life and his passions. The service was also dedicated to Paolo Seganti Gay Help Line 800 713 713 who turned 20.

The ceremony was attended by President of the Municipio III Paolo Marchionne, Fabrizio Marrazzo, spokesperson for the Gay Help Line 800 713 713, Adriana Seganti, Paolo's cousin, Maria Tarallo, President of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipio III, Marina Marini, member of the Gay Center board.

During the meeting, Paolo's story was recalled, the tragedy of his passing, and the strong bond that bound him to the park and the Municipality grounds. This remembrance was intertwined with the desire to transform memory into civic and cultural commitment.

For this reason, on the proposal of Paolo Marchionne, President of the Municipio III and with the support of Gay Center, launched the proposal to create an annual festival in the park dedicated to Paolo Seganti, A space for meeting and discussing issues of rights, inclusion, respect for diversity, and the protection of nature—values that represent the best way to keep his memory alive.

Paolo's memory thus lives on not only in the pain of his loss, but also in the collective commitment to building a more open, aware, and welcoming community.
