Gay Help Line is the national anti-homophobia and anti-transphobia contact center for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, managed by the Gay Center. Founded in 2005, in addition to handling cases of discrimination, violence, and bullying, it serves as a listening point for those in need, providing confidential support, information, and guidance.
The service can be contacted through the toll-free number 800713713 via web or Speakly chat.
The call center is open Monday to Saturday, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and is toll-free from all over Italy, both from landlines and mobile phones.
In particular, the consultancy services offered are:
– free psychological counseling for both LGBTI people and their family or friends;
– free legal advice for cases of discrimination and homophobic and transphobic violence;
– free medical advice, particularly for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV;
– anti-homophobia educational support and mediation in schools;
– social, family and work mediation;
– Protection for cases of family homophobia with hospitality and support at the Refuge LGBT+ family home.
